BHPN representatives elected to AONB Management Group

by | 13th May 2016

The result of the recent ballot to elect three parish councillors (from a nominated field of seven) to represent the BHPN on the AONB Management Group has been announced. The successful councillors are Graham Long (Upottery PC), Bob Nelson (Broadhembury PC) and Jocelyn Pritchard (Hemyock PC). Thanks to all those who stood, congratulations to the successful nominees, and good wishes for a successful tenure.

The AONB  Management Group is the main decision-making body which sets policy for the Partnership, steers the work of the AONB staff team, and oversees the implementation of the Blackdown Hills AONB Management Plan.  An active role on the Management Group is an opportunity to influence policy and decision-making, to contribute expertise, to help protect the area’s landscape, heritage and wildlife, and support local communities.  The Group’s members benefit by ensuring their organisation’s interests are represented and by working collaboratively to achieve real results in the Blackdown Hills – one of the Blackdown Hill Parish Network’s key objectives.
